Crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, wonderful wildlife and fascinating Hebridean heritage.

Ocean Guides was set up to explore, interpret and celebrate the Hebridean ocean environment and its people. We are a commercial business and work with individuals and groups wanting to access and/or work with the natural and cultural heritage of ocean and islands.

In the summer months, we offer informative and adventurous sea and island experiences for tourists and throughout the year, work with government agencies, NGOs and universities to deliver marine support services.

We are also developing a number of Research Themes which will form the focus of university and volunteer based programmes for future years. It is hoped that this work will prove useful in the management of the area for future generations of islanders and visitors.

Ocean Guides is headed up by marine scientist and islander Dr Andrew Rodger who has worked in the development and management of marine conservation areas, fisheries and aquaculture in the Outer Hebrides and elsewhere over the last 20 years.  He is assisted by a number of associates with wilderness guiding, arts, social and/or environmental science backgrounds. Andrew is an experienced commercial skipper, diver and outdoor enthusiast.
